The Berlin-based company has been acquired by a private German investor from Biosynex SA, France (ALBIO.PA). This strategic transaction signals a new chapter for the organization, while reaffirming its commitment to quality, innovation, and collaboration. The company will now operate under its original name, opTricon GmbH, reflecting its roots and long-standing reputation in the diagnostics industry. The entire management team and staff remain in place, ensuring a seamless continuation of the operations of the company in full capacity. Since its founding in 2005, opTricon GmbH has been a global leader in optical reader technology. Over the past decade, the company has supplied more than 40,000 readers to over 300 customers as an OEM manufacturer. These readers, developed and produced in Berlin, Germany, are IVD and FDA approved, adhering to the highest international regulatory standards. The company's products support approximately 300 test applications across diverse industries, including human in vitro diagnostics, veterinary medicine, food safety, pharmaceuticals, homeland security and personal well-being. As part of this transition, opTricon GmbH will maintain its trusted and long-standing partnership with Biosynex SA and its affiliated company, Chembio Diagnostics, Inc. These partnerships will ensure continued collaboration on innovative diagnostic solutions, offering reliable, high-quality products to customers worldwide.
